Overwatch's New Hero Is Baptiste
Overwatch really is the game that keeps on giving. They just dropped the full trailer for the brand new hero, Baptiste and as I write this if you are a PC Overwatch player you can test him out right now.
Baptiste has a really cool backstory in that he was a child who was made an orphan and homeless as a result of the Omnic Wars. He did what he had to do to survive including joining forces with the evil Talon. He grew up and realized this was wrong and that he could make the world a better place by doing the right thing. He really does sound quite heroic and I hope they explore his backstory in an event later this year.
As far as the way he plays, Baptiste is a support class character who is there to heal allies. While healing is his main thing he can also dish out some pretty good damage himself so I feel he could be a good character for people who are usually a little hesitant to play as a healer.
His special moves sound great and I have a feeling they might be a little too great. For example, his Regenerative Burst when activated releases a burst of energy that heals himself and nearby allies. What is cool about this is that once the burst hits a teammate they can then leave Baptiste's side and they will keep on being healed.
The Immortality Field is something I can see getting changed. This ability creates a force field that he and his teammates can be inside of. When inside this field it is impossible to die! It lasts around 8 seconds, but this could become very handy and in the right hands with a person who knows how to actually use it, this ability could be what decides many matches.
His Ultimate is the Amplification Matrix. When he puts this up anything that goes through it is doubled. This means things like D Vas rockets will do even more damage. Also, it doubles the effects of healing items too.
I think that he looks like he is going to be a really fun character to play as and hopefully, it will not be too long until he appears on Xbox One and Ps4.
