Darkwatch One Of The Best FPS Games On Playstation 2

The news is a little thin today so I thought I would take the opportunity to talk about one of my favorite first person shooter games of the PS2 and XBOX era Darkwatch.

There were so many games coming out back then that it is hard to remember them all, but I feel that Darkwatch is one of those first person shooters that no one seems to talk or care about. Which is a shame as it really is fantastic, I experienced the game first of all on the PlayStation 2, but in all honesty, the version for the original Xbox is a little better.

What really made this cool was the setting rather than being just another war based FPS game. Darkwatch is set in the USA in the 19th century and you play as Jericho. Jericho is a gunslinger and also a man who has vampire powers! He is part of a team that hunts down and kills things that go bump in the night.

You get these new powers which happen as a result of things you do in the game. So as well as using guns, you can also use supernatural powers which are a lot of fun to do. The story of Darkwatch was also a lot of fun and the people at High Moon Studios had really high hopes for it. So high that there were a sequel and even a movie planned!

Sadly Darkwatch is a one and done kind of game which is a real shame as this is a lot of fun to play and it still is now. You can get the playstation 2 version for around 10 dollars and the Xbox version may run just a tad higher. If you love first person shooters that are more than just WAR I highly recommend you check out Darkwatch.
