Interesting Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Sales Stats

I have yet to read anything negative about Call of Duty Black Ops IIII. It seems like the folks at Treyarch and Activision absolutely nailed it this year and for the majority. Call of Duty Black Ops IIII is a huge hit and most people are very happy with their purchase.

Many industry insiders had tipped Black Ops IIII to be the biggest selling game of 2018. Well, Activision has been flexing their muscles and showing just how well Black Ops IIII has done since its launch last week.

On the PS4, Call of Duty Black Ops IIII is the fastest selling digital game of all time. One other game released on the PS4 store has sold more copies on its launch day that Black Ops IIII. On Xbox One it was also a huge hit and while it may not have been the biggest digital launch overall, it was revealed that it was Activision's biggest Xbox One digital launch. Even on PC, Call of Duty Black Ops IIII was a monster digital hit as it sold more than double the amount that Call of Duty WWII did last year!

Speaking of Call of Duty WWII. There is one stat that I found very interesting. That stat is from the UK where it was revealed that physical sales of Black Ops IIII were around half of what Call of Duty WWII’s was. This is very interesting and it could be a sign that people are more willing to embrace the digital age than ever before. As a video game collector, this makes me sad as I am all about having a physical representation of a game that I like.

It is great to see a game that is so well made be so universally praised and also shift a ton of units. It will be interesting to see how many more millions of copies are sold as we get closer to the holidays.
