We are now ten games into our epic Grand Theft Auto retrospective, get ready for one hell of a ride!
Grand Theft Auto IV (2008) PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PCFor the fourth game in the Grand Theft Auto series, RockStar wanted something a little more real and gritty than what the past few games had offered. For this, they took the game back to Liberty City. This time though, Liberty City was much larger and far more realistic and was actually based on New York.
Grand Theft Auto was heavily story driven. You play as Niko Bellic who has moved to the USA from Serbia to see his cousin Roman, work for him, have a better life and in general live the American dream. The story is very well written and it is as much the supporting cast of characters that you must deal with that really make it as much as Niko himself. Before long, Niko is pulled into the world of crime and violence. GTA IV was so gritty and violent that it caused a ton of controversy.
As well as the single player, Grand Theft Auto IV also had a co-op and competitive multiplayer which supported up to 32 players which was pretty huge at the time.
Grand Theft Auto IV was the first GTA game to be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was not only critically acclaimed but at the time of release, it was the fastest selling video game… actually, forget that. It was the fastest selling piece of entertainment in history! It was also supported with DLC, which we will look at another time!
Call Of Duty WWII Is Just Fun!
Hey guys as you have probably realized, we have spent a lot of time with the beta of Call Of Duty WWII, most recently the PC version. This is by far one of the games we are most excited for this year and we wanted to share a few thoughts about the game and why you should be very excited for Call Of Duty WWII.
While Infinite Warfare was not to everyone’s taste as it was too futuristic. WW II is something that many people were excited to see Call Of Duty be about again and we wanted to tell you that this excitement is well warranted.
The thing is, we are not sure that it is because the game is set during WW II that makes it so much fun. We think that Sledgehammer Games have created a first person shooter that is just so much fun to actually play. The game modes here are perfect (especially the new War Mode) so there is something for everyone. Not to mention the single player campaign that is looking like it is going to be a ton of fun.
We know that some people get burned out on first person shooters, but if you want a game that is just going to be a fun experience every time you play it. We really do think that you are going to struggle to top Call Of Duty this holiday season.
Here at Mods “R” Us, we are super stoked to try out our epic modded controllers with this game and we would love to know how excited you guys are for Call Of Duty in the comments below.
